Vintage Tsugaru Kokeshi Doll — Signed by Muramoto Fumio, 9"H

A refined example of the Tsugaru kokeshi tradition, signed by Muramoto Fumio — an artisan whose work represents the distinctive character of the Tsugaru school from Aomori Prefecture. Tsugaru kokeshi are known for their bold, expressive decoration and their strong sense of regional identity, setting them apart from the more widely known Miyagi styles.

At 9" tall and in very good condition, this is a well-preserved and beautifully signed piece. Minor fading on the bands and hair is the only evidence of age — a testament to how carefully it has been kept. A meaningful addition to any serious kokeshi collection.
