Vintage Yamagata Kokeshi Doll — Kobayashi Lineage, 9"H

From one of the most celebrated lineages in Yamagata kokeshi craft, this vintage doll carries the hallmarks of the Kobayashi family tradition — most notably the delicate red linework patterns crowning the head, a decorative signature unique to the Yamagata regional school of Tohoku folk art.

At 9" tall, it's a beautifully proportioned piece — not too large, not too small — and the faded paint on the head and minor scuffs on the body only deepen its sense of history and authenticity.
